The Glovers head to the New Lawn for the first EFL meeting between the two clubs, looking to build on last Saturday’s 3-2 win over Accrington Stanley on home soil.
Now off the mark in League Two, Way is hoping to add defensive solidity to Yeovil’s armoury having had no problem at the other end, netting five goals in the opening two fixtures.
Speaking to iFollow Glovers, he said: “We want to work on certain aspects in certain areas of the pitch. We have to make sure we get the balance right between defence and attack, but that happens.
“Last year I spent a lot of time talking about the attackers not scoring and the defenders keeping cleansheets – now it’s the other way around.
“It’s up to me to make sure I manage the team and we’re working hard on the training ground.”
Town last met Forest Green in the National League on New Year’s Day 2003 – a game in which Way featured.
Mark Cooper’s side earned promotion via the play-offs last term but are yet to record a win in League Two (D1 L1).
Looking for their first three points in the country’s fourth tier, Way is anticipating a challenging afternoon.
“They’re a club that’s strived for league football and this is their opportunity,” he said.
“They’ve put a lot of money in to gain that success and we know how long it took us to get into the EFL.
“With us going up against each other I expect a good, entertaining game. The supporters are close on top of you so it will be an exciting game to go to.
“On the back of three points the mood in our camp is very good, so we’re looking forward to playing against them.”
Tickets for the trip to the New Lawn are now only available to buy on the day via the FGR ticket office – full details available in our Away Ticket section.
