The Red Devils got their revenge following Town’s 5-0 win over them in December thanks to James Yorwerth’s thumping header and James Collins’ penalty.
The defeat sees Town slip to 14th in Sky Bet League Two and left a bitter taste in the mouth of the Yeovil boss.
“I thought it was a poor performance and some of our experienced players lacked leadership,” Way told YTFC’s official YouTube channel.
“We didn’t show the athleticism that we have in previous games and it was a disappointing game.
“Our players decision making under pressure was poor and we knew they’d put us under pressure after beating them convincingly last time.
“I need to start again and go back to basics with the players as if I’ve just taken over the club.
“We had an opportunity to stay close to the play-offs and that’s not the case. I’ve asked the players not to blame anyone else, take responsibility and start working hard again.”
Town are back in action next Tuesday (January 10th, 7pm) when Reading Under-23s visit Huish Park in the Checkatrade Trophy.
