Yeovil have won back-to-back games at home thanks to victories against Cheltenham Town and Wycombe Wanderers, scoring five goals and conceding just two.
Ward was on the scoresheet against Cheltenham and has been a fundamental part of the side since returning from a long-term knee injury last month.
Now back in the side with the captain’s armband, the 38-year-old is keen to continue the run of wins at Huish Park this weekend.
“We’ve spoke about making this place a fortress, a very difficult place for teams to come and pick up points. Last weekend wasn’t the prettiest of games but it was important we got the three points which we did.
“We’re working hard to build momentum which we need,” said Ward. “We need to take advantage of these moments when they come along – we’ve had a good week so far, working hard to make sure it happens on Saturday.”
Having completed 90 minutes in the last two fixtures, Ward is confident his injury problems are a thing of the past.
"I’m very relaxed about it, I’m sticking to protocol from the medical side of things. It’s one of them injuries where you have to be sensible with it.
“To come in and play 90 in the last two is fantastic and ahead of schedule, hopefully I can do it again on Saturday. I’ve hardly been injured in my career so it’s new to me at 38 which sounds crazy.
“I’ve been doing as I’m told and working hard again as I always do to continue as long as I can.”
