The 37-year-old has featured in just 18 of the Glovers’ 44 matches in all competitions this season due to an ongoing knee problem.
Former Millwall man Ward saw a specialist on Tuesday to help diagnose the solution to his injury and Way says they will come up with an arrangement to suit the defender’s needs.
He told YTFC.net: “I’ve spoken to Darren and at the moment he needs rest.
“I’ll have a conversation with the specialist and we’ll make sure we come up with the right plan for the future of Darren.”
Nathan Smith (knee) and Otis Khan (ankle) are also ruled out of Saturday’s match with the Hatters.
