The 27-year-old, who arrived from Motherwell in January, notched his second goal since joining the club to ensure the Glovers left Essex with all three points.
Starting his second match in succession, Fisher netted the only goal of the game at the Weston Homes Community Stadium with a neat first-half finish.
Enough to secure all three points for the visitors, the former Mansfield and Oxford United striker hailed his team-mates’ performance.
“It was a tough game,” he told iFollow Glovers. “The conditions were not the best but it was a real spirited team performance. We took a lot of positives out of the Exeter game (in midweek) which saw us through again.
“You can’t switch off for a second because that’s all it takes for them to score and get back into the game so the fact they didn’t is credit to the boys who did a superb job at the back.
Nels (Stuart Nelson) deserves a special mention, it was his penalty save early on which really set us up because it would’ve obviously changed the game, it was a great performance from him – an experienced guy at the back really helped us through in the later stages.”
Moving 11 points clear of the drop zone and a step closer to midtable, Yeovil now face a fortnight out of action until Forest Green Rovers visit Huish Park on March 30th.
Despite the break from Sky Bet League Two, Fisher insists the players remain determined to finish the season strongly.
“We have a target that has been set by gaffer that we want to reach that he says will make it a very successful season for the club, so that’s what we’re trying to do and three points takes us closer to that.
“Some of the amount of games a lot of the lads have had means it’s now a well-earned rest for a lot of the players. It will be used smartly but is also a chance to get the necessary rest that we need at the same time.”
