Town earned their first clean sheet of the Sky Bet League Two campaign as goals from Rhys Browne and Olufela Olomola secured victory at Huish Park.
Way and three members of his first-team squad visited young fan Rhys Powell at St Margaret’s Hospice in the week, and the Yeovil boss dedicated the victory to him.
“I’m pleased for the players and the supporters,” he told iFollow Glovers.
“I said from day one if we got the balance right between defence and attack, we’d end up winning games and to get a clean sheet plus how we defended as a team was fantastic.
“We brought in Sid (Nelson), who I thought was fantastic, but we really defended well against a good team.
“I thought we looked so much fitter towards the end and our strikers caused them all sorts of problems with their pace and power.
“One thing I do know from looking at their faces is we have a really strong dressing room.
“The supporters got right behind us and are creating a really good environment at the moment.”
On supporter Rhys, he added: “He’s showed fighting spirit.
“It was nice to have someone in Yeovil who wanted to meet us.
“It’s always difficult when you go and see someone who isn’t very well so to get three points for him was very, very pleasing.”
