The Glovers suffered their first defeat on the road since the opening day of the season at Crawley on Saturday, with Carl Dickinson’s goal the only consolation in a 3-1 loss.
Making the midweek trip to Essex, Town are looking for a return to winning ways and Way is looking for a reaction from his players.
Speaking to YTFC.net, he said: “We’ve done okay at Colchester, and I’m asking the players to respond. I need good reactions.
“I said to the players that the football season is very very difficult, and everyone has got a plan until you get punched in the face. In the last three games now, players and managers have come up and they’ve analysed our game plan, and they’ve tried to combat that by putting that extra midfielder in there, so we don’t break so quick.
“A number of times we broke quick and they gave fouls away. So we have to make sure that we work harder, and play with more quality and more determination to break that down.”
The green and whites will look for a repeat of last year’s result when Alex Fisher’s first half strike secured all three points in Essex.
