The Glovers secured mathematical safety with two games left to play, whilst the Imps know a point will guarantee their spot in the Sky Bet League Two play-offs.
Having been part of the coaching staff to oversee 4-1 and 5-1 defeats at the hands of the Middlesborough and MK Dons respectively on the last day of action in recent seasons, the Town boss wants an all to play for approach from his players.
Speaking to iFollow Glovers, he said: “The supporters remember the last game and I’ve been involved over the years at Yeovil in some of the worst games because players essentially shutdown.
“I’ll never forget the game at Taunton (in the Somerset Premier Cup) which was probably my lowest point as someone who loves this football club.
“We had the situation at MK Dons, the situation against Boro because so many players were not under contract and leaving and we don’t want that to be the case this year.”
Looking to exact some revenge for the 2-0 defeat back in December, the Glovers head to Sincil Bank looking to throw a spanner in the hosts’ promotion push.
However, Way has reiterated to his players the commitment needed in order to do so.
“They’re very direct, some of the tackles will be very, very forceful but we’ve got to stand up to that and if we don’t it will be a very, very tough task.
“I’ve prepared the players and my staff extremely well, the players know what they’re coming up against and we have to make sure we rise to that challenge for the supporters more than anything.
“Other teams are looking at our results but I can guarantee to other football clubs and managers that I’ve prepared my team more for this game than any other game.”
