Rhys Browne (x2), Alex Fisher (x2) and Diallang Jaiyesimi were all on target against the Pilgrims as the Glovers continued their impressive build up to the 2018/19 campaign.

The romp built on Tuesday’s 1-1 draw with Bristol Rovers with a clear strategy emerging on the pitch.

Playing out from the back the Green & Whites are putting their efforts on the training ground into practice, something that leaves Way delighted.

“It was a phenomenal performance,” he told YTFC.net. “We’ve had very good results against both Rovers and Argyle now.

“We’re making baby steps with the strategy we’re trying put into place and you can see we’re causing the opposition a number of problems.

“It’s the first time in two-and-a-half years of management that I’ve got a bit of stability and been working with these players for a long time. We look a threat to anyone.”

Despite a string of encouraging results in the build up to the new campaign Town’s boss remains cautious in his praise.

The Glovers have a further three pre-season matches before the Sky Bet League Two campaign kicks-off at Bury on the 4th August.

“I’m making sure the players remain level-headed and that we understand where we are. We’ve done well to keep Omar Sowunmi and Tom James – two players heavily linked with a move away – and now we’ve got to do our best to get a good start to the season.

“I made mistakes last season in pre-season so this has been carefully planned to ensure we’re in the best place possible by the time August comes around.”
