5th December 2017

The Glovers left it late to come away from Port Vale with a 1-1 draw in the Emirates FA Cup second round at the weekend, with the eventual winner now facing the prospect of Bradford City at home in the New Year.

Jordan Green’s first Yeovil goal earned the visitors a replay, building on last Tuesday’s 2-1 Checkatrade Trophy triumph over League One outfit Plymouth Argyle.

Tom James and Sam Surridge were on target against the Pilgrims and will be hoping to do the same against higher league opposition once again.

The Green and Whites are yet to lose in the competition, winning two and drawing one (with a bonus point for a penalty shootout victory).

Darren Way’s side are now just four matches away from a Wembley final, as they look to go two better than last season’s quarter-final exit.

The Dons head to Somerset just two days after progressing to round three of the FA Cup.

Cody McDonald and a Lyle Taylor brace saw them overcome Charlton Athletic 3-1, recording their first win in three matches.

Taylor will pose the visitors’ main threat with nine goals in all competitions this season, backed up by Andy Barcham (3) and former Town man Kwesi Appiah (2).

Head-to-head
Tuesday’s encounter will be just the third competitive meeting between the two sides.

So far, Yeovil remain unbeaten with a draw and victory to their name.

Memorably, Jack Compton’s hat-trick saw Town come away from Kingsmeadow 3-2 winners in January 2016.

Officials
Graham Horwood (Bedfordshire) will take charge at Huish Park.

The clash will be his 18th match of the season and second involving Yeovil having overseen the 2-1 defeat at Grimsby Town.

Mr Horwood will be assisted by Justin Amey (Dorset) and Dean Treleaven (West Sussex) with Scott Jackson acting as fourth official.
