Yeovil Town return to Huish Park after three games away this Saturday (3pm) to face Boreham Wood.
In what has been an eventful few weeks for the green and whites, Darren Sarll is just pleased to return home.
Speaking to YTTV, the Gaffer said; “It feels like it has been quite a bit of time away. A lot has happened so it will be nice to be back home, and not to be travelling eight hours north.
“I’m sure the supporters will feel the same, there’s no chance the coach can break down when we play at home so I’m sure everybody is delighted.”
“I know their manager (Luke Garrard) very well, I played against him in cup competitions when I was at Stevenage. I’ve known him for years; I may have even played against him at some stage. He’s a winner, they will be very competitive and well coached.”
After scoring twice on Tuesday, Chris Dagnall staked a claim for a starting spot in the Glovers talented forward line.
With Rhys Murph continually finding the back of the net, and the likes of Courtney Duffus returning from injury, competition for places up front is high.
“Saturday to Saturday, he’s (Chris Dagnall) ready. Chris had a strong pre-season, training every day and playing pre-season games.”
“He has a base which is very important, but then had a prolonged break. So, we’re catching up following that foundation he gained during the Summer.”
“That’s why I looked after him last weekend against Chorley. I had in mind the two games the following week, I knew Courtney Duffus couldn’t play on the artificial surface and Chris was on the other side of that, I managed it well.
“Normally when you plan as a manager, all of your best laid plans never come to fruition. We planned to give Jimmy Smith and Rhys Murphy a bit of breather so they can be as fresh as possible for Saturday.”
“Matt (Worthington) sat out too for the same reason, for a lesser extent though because he’s a bit younger and incredibly fit. I just wanted them to have the chance to breathe again. I think it’s only the second time Worthington has appeared as a substitute; he just covers such ground for us.”
“The fact Chris came in and scored two, it was in terms of planning and application it came off. None of them were particularly pleased they weren’t playing but I felt I had to step in a pull them out.”
