Yeovil Town manager Darren Sarll says he and his side are anticipating a tough test when King’s Lynn Town visit Huish Park this weekend.
After three defeats on the spin for the Glovers, they will be looking to reignite their good fortunates as Ian Culverhouse’s side pose another obstacle in the way of the green and whites.
Following a difficult few weeks for Town, Sarll has urged his players to finish the season on the front foot as the National league season edges ever closer to its conclusion.
“Every game for us is tough at the minute,“ he said. “King’s Lynn are a team who are playing with ridiculous freedom at the moment. Since they came up, obviously their main goal was to regain their league status. Now, that they’ve done that, they’re playing with a lot of freedom at the minute, which translates into some very good football at times.
“A good game for us is winning and playing good football. For me, my focus is sorely on ourselves rather than what King’s Lynn foresee winning.
“Winning, losing, relegation or not, I still want to finish the season strongly. We’ve got three home games out of four and I really want to inject some energy into the players and the football club. We’ve all suffered this season, and now is the time to start being that little bit brighter. “
Despite big injury hits, suspensions and off the field matters, Sarll has credited his players’ mental strength and insists that they have put maximal effort in every game they’ve played in over the last couple of weeks.
“Due to our lack of options and availability, it has really stretched us mentally and has shattered us in a way. Personally, I still don’t know how the players have come through this period. Mentally, I’m all over the place, so for the players to play 90 minutes week in week out must be very draining.
“The last couple of games, the players have given everything. The way they’ve performed mentally throughout this period has been unbelievable and I take my hat off to them.
“Of course, the results haven’t been very good of late, but I’m still very proud of how the group have conducted themselves and how much they’ve really pushed themselves. “
