Yeovil Town went down 2-0 to Torquay United at a very warm Plainmoor.
Two late goals from substitutes Jordan Chapell and Daniel Sullivan sealed the victory for Alan Knill’s side.
The Glovers began brightly in the scorching hot Devon sunshine with chances falling to both Madden and Ngoo.
The hosts had a couple of chances themselves within the opening 20 minutes but failed to test Stech between the sticks.
At the other end Madden went close with a couple of headers before Sam Foley struck the post with a well struck half volley from just inside the area.
Seconds later Webster saw his goal bound header cleared off the line by defender Dale Tongue.
Chances were coming thick and fast for Town. Madden’s shot was saved easily by Rice in the Torquay goal. Minutes later Ngoo set the ball nicely for Dawson to let rip from 25 yards but his shot was deflected wide for a corner.
After 37 minutes Ngoo thought he had opened there scoring with a well placed header into the bottom corner, but his celebrations were cut short with a late flag from the referees assistant.
The hosts forced their first save out of Stech when Benyon’s venomous volley was well palmed away by the big shot stopper.
Upson was the next Yeovil player to go close but his shot went narrowly wide with keeper Rice well beaten.
Just moments before the half time whistle Ngoo found himself unmarked and on the end of a Ayling cross only to see Rice palm away his goal bound flick.
The second half started as the first ended with Yeovil on the attack. Dawson’s shot from just outside the area was easily gathered by Rice.
On 58 minutes Gary Johnson made five changes with Hoskins, Clifford, Junior , Moore and Grant replacing Foley, Ngoo, Edwards, Upson and Dawson.
With not a great deal happening the game came to life when a Yeoman shot was deflected just wide of the upright by an outstretched Ayling leg with Stech totally wrong footed.
With just seven minutes remaining Torquay took the lead when a Webster slipped, which allowed Chapell to advance on goal and calmly slot the ball past the advancing Stech.
The home side sealed the victory when Sullivan picked up a loose back pass from Jones and rounded Stech to slot home from 12 yards.
