Town travelled to Basingstoke Town on Saturday to continue their pre-season preperations.

Manager Gary Johnson named three trialists in the second half XI.

Former loanee Lawson D’Ath along with Frenchman Kamel Chergui and Ferdinand Takyi were all named in the second half team.

Town started brightly and nearly opened the scoring in the first minute when a quick free kick was narrowly headed over his own bar by Tom Bird.

On 15 minutes the Glovers had two chances to open the scoring within ten seconds of each other. First, Kieffer Moore chested the ball down but Basingsrtoke keeper Stuart Moore was quick off his line to deny the big striker. Just seconds later Sam Hoskins headed wide when he was well placed to open the scoring.

On the half hour mark Town opened the scoring when Sam Hoskins pounced on a defensive mistake to beat Moore to make it 1-0.

Ten minutes into the second half the hosts drew level. A corner kick was swung in and Town failed to clear their lines and Manny Williams prodded home from close range.

With both sides making changes in the second half the game failed to flow freely and both sides had to settle for a 1-1 draw.
