Yeovil Town will return to Huish Park for the first time this pre-season on Saturday (3pm) as League One side Exeter City provide friendly opposition.

Chris Hargreaves will be looking to get some more vital minutes into his side as he manages his first game at Huish Park.

After a goalless draw on Tuesday evening against Taunton Town, Hargreaves has added extra firepower to his Town side with the signing of Alex Fisher.

Team news

Fisher could play for the first time since his return to Huish Park was confirmed on Thursday evening.

After missing out against Taunton through injury, we could get our first pre-season glimpse at Ollie Hulbert, Lawson D’Ath and Charlie Wakefield.

Speaking post-match, Hargreaves confirmed a number of trialists would be invited back after appearing against the Peacocks, so expect some unfamiliar faces!

A foot in the opposition camp

Like our opponents on Tuesday, Exeter are riding a promotion high. Last season, the Grecians secured a spot in League One with a second placed finish in League Two.

This has meant much of the squad has been retained, with star forward Matt Jay the man to look out for in the opposition camp.

Have we met before

During Town’s stay in the EFL, the two West Country sides locked horns on a number of occasions, most recently on Boxing Day in 2018 where Exeter were the 2-1 victors.

Town’s last win came in December 2017, with a 3-1 victory at Huish Park, where a certain Matt Worthington starting for Yeovil that day.

The first meeting between the two sides dates back to 1934, where Yeovil were the 4-1 victors in the FA Cup.
