Yeovil Town are back in SkyBet League Two action tonight with an away trip to Luton Town.
The game kicks off at 7:45pm at Kenilworth Road and is an ALL TICKET game for away fans.
The Glovers have been in something of a run of form of late and will be hoping for another positive result to continue their resurgence.
Back to back wins over Crawley Town and AFC Wimbledon have boosted the club’s confidence as Darren Way’s side have now only lost once in the last seven games.
That defeat was to Morecambe and anyone who witnessed the game will confirm that the Glovers had enough chances to get a result in three or four games.
Performances have been improving steadily under Way and the form of Jack Compton and Liam Walsh have both stood out of late.
Compton’s hat-trick on Saturday – his first of his career – cemented his place as not only a fan’s favourite, but also as one of the first names on the team sheet.
This match serves as the last one that Alex Lacey will miss through suspension, the central defender will be available again for Saturday’s game vs Plymouth.
At the other end of the pitch, the returning Harry Cornick – on loan from Bournemouth – was a nice surprise for Yeovil fans on Saturday.
He replaced Ryan Bird in the squad, he missed out through illness and he will be hoping to return this midweek. Darren Ward will be hoping to return sooner rather than later too, with Simon Gillett making his first appearance in over a year on Saturday – the injury list has got progressively smaller.
One man who won’t be representing Yeovil is winger Iffy Allen who has joined Torquay on a permanent deal in a late Transfer Deadline Day deal.
Our hosts this Tuesday, Luton Town have changed manager since we last played, John Still has departed and the new gaffer needs little to no introduction to Yeovil fans.
The former left back, Nathan Jones is now the top man at Luton Town joining earlier this month.
Jones has been in charge for just three games thus far, overseeing a draw against Cambridge, a win over Mansfield and a defeat on Saturday against Notts County.
Whilst preparing for those games, Jones has been busy reshaping his squad with both incomings and outgoings already confirmed.
Alan Sheehan – a free kick specialist defender – has joined from Bradford and Joe Pigott has joined from Charlton on loan.
On the way out is Scott Griffiths who has joined Woking and Alan Parry has joined Barrow.
One player who has featured prominently under Jones is Jake Howells, the midfielder returned to Luton from a loan spell in Yeovil back in October.
Howells played six times for the Glovers and has played the full 90 minutes for Luton in all three games since the arrival of Nathan Jones.
Yeovil are heading to Kenilworth Road with form on their side and three points could see them jump another place above Hartlepool if results go their way.
Last time we met
Earlier in this campaign, Yeovil came from 2-0 down to beat Luton 3-2 at Huish Park.
The game, which saw the Glovers gain their first points of the season, flipped on it’s head once Craig Mackail Smith and Paul Benson had got the visitors off to a great start.
However, Stephen Arthurworrey got one back before Ryan Bird notched twice to secure all three points.
Before this season, Yeovil and Luton have only met three times in competitive action; once in a Carling Cup match in 2003. A game that ended 4-1 to the Hatters.
The two league fixtures in the 2007/08 season saw just the one goal between them; a 0-0 draw at Huish Park was followed by a 1-0 Luton win back at Kenilworth Road.
So, in three meetings between the sides, Yeovil have scored just once – that goal… an own goal.
Yeovil then will be hoping that at the very least, someone in green and white finds the net.
