20th November 2014

Hi everyone.

It may be Thursday…but I am still in shock that we did not win that game last Saturday, let alone lost it. We had so many chances to score and it was just heartbreaking to lose a goal so late on. I have to say though, I thought it was one of the best performances of the season.

Never will you see a more dominant 1 – 0 loss or a more solid performance from a side bottom of the table. It may make grim reading at the moment but we look good in all areas of the pitch, just incredibly soft up front. We need to find that killer instinct and cement our place in League One this season.

Another international week and another two victories for England – for once we can’t really complain about the national team. I was pleased to see Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck score in the 3-1 victories. Rooney has now scored 46 goals in an England shirt, a quite unbelievable record; it is amazing he is still getting so much stick in the media.

As much as I was pleased England did well…I do miss the Premier League and Championship during the break. What better way to start this weekend than a huge fixture like Arsenal vs Manchester United? The 5.30 Kick Off has potential to be one of the games of the weekend and I really don’t know which way it is going to go! Welbeck will be keen to impress against his old side, particularly after such a poor loss against Swansea.

However, Manchester United seem rejuvenated and are grinding out some better results despite not playing as well as they have been used to. In the Championship, Watford take on Derby in a huge match at the top end of the table, I think the top six in the second tier this year will all swap around, just look at the fall of Nottingham Forest. Flying high at the top early on, they now sit in 11th place. Once again, it is going to be an exciting second half of the season, especially with the busy Christmas period approaching.

Goal of the Week

With all the other football being played, it is easy to forget some of the FA Cup ties that took place this week, so for goal of the week I have chosen this brilliant strike from Concord Rangers Jordan Chiedozie. This equaliser earnt his side a replay against Mansfield Town – one he will remember I am sure.

Talking of the FA Cup, we will play Accrington Stanley in the second round in a couple of week’s time. I will be making the trip up to support the lads and tick off another new ground. What a difference a cup run could make to our season. I hope to also see you all at Notts County on Saturday, I haven’t been to an away game in ages so I can’t wait to join in and sing as loud as I can! Those 3 points have never been more vital so let’s go there and finally get a result our performances deserve.

See you all there.
