Their will be no FA Youth Cup run for Yeovil Town this year after they were dumped out of the competition, beaten 4-2 away at Oxford United.

Oxford Hot Shot James Roberts got the home side off to a great start when he headed home from a corner after only 6 minutes. Yeovil to their credit though dug in and equalised when Liam MacDevitt scored from close in after the Oxford defence couldn’t clear from a corner.
A fairly even period ensued with both sides having a fair degree of possession but it all went wrong from a Yeovil perspective when Roberts again was given too much space as he shot home from distance in the 41st. minute.
Yeovil started the second half well with chances falling to Will Agbo and Melchi Emmanuel-Wilkinson but it was the home side who went further in front when Roberts set up Udumaga whose shot went in despite Matt Cafer getting a hand to the ball.
Yeovil though, would not lie down and came back with a second goal for Liam MacDevitt who again headed home from a corner in the 67th. minute.
With Yeovil pressing towards the end of the game for an equaliser they were caught pushing up front by a breakaway goal for Oxford from Callum O’Dowada. It was enough to seal victory for the home side and put an end to hopes of glory in this year’s FA Trophy for the Glovers Youth side.
The victory was Oxford’s eight in succession and Robert’s goals were his 14th. and 15th. in his last six matches …nuff said!!
