The young winger has become Town’s first summer signing, joining from Grimsby Town for an undisclosed fee on a two-year contract.
Browne senior made nearly 100 appearances for Yeovil in the 90s and Rhys is relishing the chance to take to the field at Huish Park.
“To get it over the line is a good feeling,” he told YTFC’s official YouTube channel.
“He (father Steve) never let me forget that he used to play for Yeovil.
“It’ll be good to come here and make my own stories – maybe three generations can come here!”
He added: “As soon as I walked in I felt really comfortable. The people are really nice here so it’s good to finally put on the shirt after a lot of talking.
“I’m glad to finally get it over the line and I can’t wait to get started.”
The 21-year-old, who has five international caps for Antigua and Barbuda, won the 2012/13 FA Youth Cup with Norwich City before joining to Charlton Athletic Academy.
Since then, he has gone on to feature for Aldershot Town and Macclesfield Town, on loan from Grimsby, scoring goals aplenty and keeping fans of the two National League outfits entertained.
“I want to bring lots excitement and goals,” Browne said.
“I’m a quick, direct winger who puts lots of shots and crosses in – that’s my game and that’s what I pride myself on. I work on each foot day-in, day-out so I should be good on either side!
“(Macclesfield) was a lot for me because of off-field experiences but it was very good to go there, play a lot of games and to play at Wembley (2016/7 FA Trophy final) which is the highlight of my career so far.
“To score a goal there was amazing too but I’m ready for a new challenge at Yeovil and I’m ready to get started.”
