The Glovers return to Somerset in a rich vein of form, unbeaten in their last three including back-to-back victories topped off by an emphatic 6-2 win at Coventry on Easter Monday.
Taking to the field at home for the first time in a month, the Barnsley loanee believes the Green & Whites have nothing to fear when they line up against Nathan Jones’ side.
“Spirits are really high at moment,” he told iFollow Glovers. “We’re unbeaten in the last three and to win 6-2 at Coventry against a very good side is a great result.
“On our day we can beat anyone in the league as we showed on Monday against a high-flying side unbeaten in seven games. We went and turned them over 6-2 so anything is possible.
“Obviously they’re a top side but we need to get another result at the weekend so we’ll do everything in our power to get the win.”
Enjoying his first loan spell away from Oakwell, the midfielder has notched up 10 appearances since arriving in January.
The 20-year-old’s late arrival means Bird wasn’t part of the heavy opening day defeat at Luton, a result he feels doesn’t come into thought this weekend.
“It’s not revenge at all, players are more focused on this game. That was at the start of the season and we’re in a much better place now. We can definitely get the win if we perform on the day.
“We want to get to 54 points as a team, that’s our minimum and individually I want to play every game between now and the end of the season.
“We all know we’re capable of kicking on up the table and that would stand everyone in good stead for next season.”
