Yeovil Town returned to Somerset empty handed after suffering a 2-1 defeat at Ipswich Town.
The green and whites took the lead late in the second when former Ipswich Town target Joel Grant struck with a 25-yard stunner.
Ipswich equalised on 52 minutes thanks to Daryl Murphy before Aaron Cresswell made it 2-1 to the men in blue.
In a quiet opening period Ipswich had the majority of the play but failed to test Hennessey, although striker David McGoldrick went close for the hosts but his shot went wide of the upright. Fellow striker Daryl Murphy looked certain to at least sting the palms of Hennessey, but Seaborne threw himself in front of the strikers shot to provide a vital block.
Just before the half-time break the Glovers took the lead. Grant picked up a lay off from Williams 25 yards from goal and unleashed an unstoppable effort past Gerkin into the top corner of the net, much to the delight of the travelling faithful.
The Glovers started the second half brightly with Williams causing the Ipswich back line problems with his running off the ball. It was the loanee who had the first real chance of the second half when he latched onto a through ball but his resulting shot hit the side netting.
At the other end Liam Fontaine was on hand to throw himself in front of a goal bound Liam Hyam shot.
The hosts drew on 52 minutes when Cole Skuse headed a deep cross back across goal to the feet of Murphy. The strikers initial shot was blocked onto the cross bar by McAllister but with the defender on the floor the ball landed at Murphy’s feet and he managed to scramble the ball home from close range.
The Tractor Boys took the lead just before the hour mark when left-back Cresswell curled the ball past the diving Hennessey after his first effort was well blocked by Fontaine.
Gary Johnson introduced Kieffer Moore for James Hayter on the hour mark and also replaced Joe Edwards with Liam Davis ten minutes later. Joe Ralls moved to centre midfield with Davis replacing him on the wing.
With the fourth official signalling three minutes of time added on Yeovil threw men forward and could have pulled level when Ralls’ goal bound shot was well palmed away by Gerken.
