3rd October 2022

Yeovil Town are on the road for the second consecutive game with a trip to Dorking Wanderers on Tuesday night (7:45pm).

After a defeat last time out, the Glovers will be hungry for a result when they face the newly promoted side.

For Dorking, it’s been a frantic start to life in the National League, with a number of high scoring games and big name scalps already secured in their short time in non-league’s premier division.

Chris Hargreaves’ thoughts

Chris Hargreaves spoke after Saturday’s defeat to Southend United:

Team news

Jamie Reckord was a notable absentee from Saturday’s squad after an infection in his knee ruled him out of contention.

However, Will Dawes made his first appearance in the squad on Saturday but did not make it off the bench.

Chiori Johnson remained unavailable after an injury he sustained against Chesterfield whilst Sam Perry is yet to return to the squad after the concussion he suffered. Town’s only long-term absentee is Callum Rowe.

On the suspension front, Gime Touré will miss our next three games for his straight red card against Southend.

A foot in the opposition camp

There’s a feel-good factor around Dorking Wanderers as they enter their first National League campaign. Marc White, who acts as chairman and manager has enjoyed a meteoric rise with the Wanderers taking them from the Crawley and District League to the National League.

Amongst the ranks at Meadowbank is former Glover Ryan Seager. After departing Huish Park in 2020, Seager spent a number of years in the National League South where he boasted a prolific record for Hungerford. He moved onto pastures new this summer, signing for White’s side. He has three league goals so far this campaign.

Have we met before?

We haven’t met the current Dorking FC before, but have played at their ground. The Glovers were the 2-1 victors when we faced Guildford & Dorking United in 1974 at Meadowbank.
