Yeovil Town’s FA Cup Third round tie against Manchester United on January 4th has presented the club with one of the biggest logistical challenges in its history.

As a small club the tie brings a huge financial opportunity to increase its stability in the near future.  Equally, though, Yeovil Town is concerned for its loyal supporters, and the attraction of Manchester United’s visit has meant an unprecedented demand for tickets.

We stressed from the outset in our matchday programmes, in the media and on our website that tickets for the cup tie for fans with vouchers from the Accrington Stanley replay and the Colchester league match could not be guaranteed and would be subject to availability.

It was decided to allocate tickets first to season ticket holders and half season ticket holders and then to supporters with vouchers from the two recent matches.

The huge demand for tickets has left some fans disappointed, which we sincerely regret, and we can only ask them to understand the limitations under which we have to operate as a club with limited resources and a Huish Park stadium with a capacity of 9,500.

As supporters will know, the match is to be televised live by BT Sport.
