Two goals from Olufela Olomola and a strike from Francois Zoko helped the Glovers to three points in their first home match of the campaign.
The win comes after two tough matches against Luton Town and Wolves, and Way expressed delight at his team’s display.
“I’m pleased for the players and the supporters,” he told Glovers iFollow.
“Accrington have been in amazing form and the players responded really well today (to last week).
“To go 1-0 down, then have 35 minutes of pure attacking play and score three goals was very pleasing on the eye.
“The supporters deserved that and the ones that turned up today supported the team from start to finish and I want to thank them on behalf of the staff and players.”
He continued: “We wanted to concentrate on the performance.
“From the first result, there’s a lot of question marks on myself, the players and the club.
“This is a fantastic football club despite what people say about it. We’ve had some great stories and I feel very proud to lead this team.
“The players have been able to put a performance in that I’m hoping the supporters have been very pleased with.”
