Yeovil Town head to North Wales on Saturday afternoon (3pm) to face Wrexham AFC in National League action.

After a cruel defeat on Bank Holiday Monday against Halifax, Yeovil Town head to Wrexham aiming to beat the play-off chasing Dragons.

Recently purchased by Hollywood stars Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, the financial clout from the big screen has thrusted Wrexham into play-off hopefuls.

Terry Skiverton’s thoughts

Speaking to the media about maintaining high standards, assistant manager Skiverton said; “With the group we’ve got and the manager we’ve got, we don’t sack anything off. We need to make sure we go and put a performance in.

“Our supporters want to see hard work, determination and character. They want to see us defending well and scoring goals.”

Team news

Despite not confirming any names, Terry Skiverton said Town were down to the“bare bones” in this week’s press conference.

This may open a space for the likes of academy product Toby Stephens who sat on the bench last time out against FC Halifax Town.

Expected absentees include Lawson D’Ath & Josh Staunton who continue to recover from their long-term injuries. Whilst Staunton is stated for a return in time for pre-season, Darren Sarll has recently hinted we may see D’Ath before the National League season reaches its conclusion.

A foot in the opposition camp

After a successful two-year spell with the club from 2016 to 2018, manager Dean Keates returned to Wrexham in 2019. After a sub-par 19/20 sitting in the bottom half of the table, Wrexham have ignited a promotion push this season, sitting in a play-off spot.

A club reinvigorated, after languishing in non-league football for the last 16 years, the purchase by Hollywood stars Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds has been cause for real excitement amongst supporters in North Wales.

Recent signings have included former Glovers Gold Omotayo and Keanu Marsh-Brown who hope to add the attacking spark to the hosts’ promotion push.
