After two games on the road, Yeovil Town return to Huish Park to face opening day opponents King’s Lynn Town.
With just three home fixtures remaining, Town will look to end the season strong, capitalising on the strong home form seen in 2021.
King’s Lynn have struggled in recent weeks, falling to a 4-1 defeat against Chesterfield last time out.
Darren Sarll’s thoughts
Speaking to the press ahead of Saturday’s game, Sarll said; “A good game for us is winning and playing good football. For me, my focus is sorely on ourselves rather than what King’s Lynn foresee winning.
“Winning, losing, relegation or not, I still want to finish the season strongly. We’ve got three home games out of four and I really want to inject some energy into the players and the football club.
“We’ve all suffered this season, and now is the time to start being that little bit brighter.”
Team News
Whilst Town still await the response on Alex Bradley’s red card appeal, Yeovil will certainly be without long-term absentee Josh Staunton. Despite defeat, a shining light from Tuesday’s game was the return of Lawson D’Ath who was a second half substitute.
Toby Stephens could be in line for another appearance after two late cameos against Aldershot and Wrexham.
A foot in the opposition camp
Like all clubs at this level, COVID has had a major impact for King’s Lynn, the loss of star striker Adam Marriott freed up much needed funds to keep the Linnets afloat and competitive ready for next season’s second campaign in the National League.
The loss of Marriott meant former Norwich man Sonny Carey stepped up to take the mantle as the leading man at the Walks. The 20-year-old midfielder has flourished in his first season in the National League, scoring five goals in all competitions. After joining from Wrexham in June 2019, he had to be patient for his chance to shine. Taking his chance when he got it,
Carey’s performances have seen links surface to Championship sides Swansea and Bournemouth, with recently promoted League Two side Bolton Wanderers also taking an interest in his services.
