Charlie Lee has been left feeling delighted with the hard work his fellow teammates have put in this season.
Since joining, Lee has seen the green and whites rise up the league into the play-off spots.
Speaking to YTTV on the strong start, the midfielder said;
“I think it’s going better than we all expected. I went through something similar when I joined Leyton Orient, it normally takes a while, but the manager and staff deserve a lot of credit for how they have got us working together.”
“We’re really pleased of where we are at this time of the season, we had expected to do our best work in the second half of the season so if this carries on, we will be in a good position.”
“I wouldn’t think many teams work harder than us on the training ground, and around the place in general. You get out what you put in, and we’re putting in a lot of work at the minute.”
Lee was forced to sit out in our last league outing against Chorley due to suspension, but the depth within the ranks shone through as Town ran out 1-2 winners.
“We had a few boys who hadn’t played as many games come into the team, with Luke (Wilkinson) and I both being suspended.”
“It’s a squad game, everyone is going to be useful this season, especially over the next few months when the games come think and fast, the boys will be ready.
On Saturday, the Glovers return to Huish Park to face 17/18 play-off finalists Boreham Wood.
“I’ve played against them many times and there’s a lot of familiar faces there. We’re really confident when we play at home and hopefully, we can get the three points.”
“We’ve got three home games on the trot now, and the whole squad is really looking forward to it.”
