YEOVIL Town Ladies are delighted to announce that they will be playing their FA Women’s Premier League Cup Round of Sixteen match on the stadium pitch at Huish Park in Yeovil. The match takes place on Sunday 13th January 2013 and kicks off at 2.00pm, with National Premier League outfit Leeds United Ladies the opponents.
United are one of the top sides outside of the Women’s Super league, and presently sit in third place in the league. They are a formidable side, but as the Glovers have proved already this season with good performances and results over national League sides Reading Women and Portsmouth Ladies, they are more than capable of competing with sides from the top league.
“This is one of the biggest matches in the club’s history, and certainly the biggest since I’ve been here,” joint manager Sarah Lawler said this afternoon. “It is therefore great that we are able to play the game at such a top arena. The players are delighted to be playing the game at the stadium, and it will be a massive motivating factor for them.
“It is a big honour for us to be playing at Huish Park, and we would like to thank the main club and Gary Johnson for allowing it to happen. We will be going all out to win the match, and we intend to uphold the rich tradition of cup football at Yeovil Town.
“I would like to urge all Yeovil Town fans to come along and support us. We play good attacking football, and are great to watch, with entertainment and goals high on the agenda. With low admission prices on the day, it should present a great value and exciting afternoon of football. If you have not yet seen women’s football, please give it a go. I think that you will be pleasantly surprised.”
Admission prices have been set at £3.00 for adults, and £1.00 for concessions, with children able to enter for free if accompanied by a paying adult.
