Yeovil Town are pleased to announce they have agreed a one-year deal to sign former Hartlepool United winger Jack Compton.

The Glovers have agreed personal terms with the Welshman, who will officially join the club on July 1st.

Jack, 26, started his career in the youth setup at Portsmouth before signing for West Bromwich Albion at the tender age of 17.

The winger joined Scottish side Falkirk in 2010, where he made 37 appearances before rejoining Portsmouth in 2012.

In January 2013 he joined Colchester United where he became the 600th player to play for the club in the football league.

Most recently Jack was at Hartlepool United where he helped the club secure safety in League Two last term.

On joining Yeovil Town Jack said: "I can not wait to get going now. I have heard so many good things about the club.

"I had some other offers but after meeting with the Gaffer and his staff, I knew Yeovil Town was the club I wanted to join.

“I would like to thank everyone at Hartlepool United, I had two great years at the club.”

Manager Paul Sturrock said: “Jack is a out and out winger and they are vital in football these days. He will supply us with endless crosses into the box.

“I have watched him numerous times when I have been at other clubs and have always been tempted to sign him.

“I am very pleased to have agreed a deal with Jack and look forward to seeing him play for Yeovil.”
