Yeovil Town players have been warned that maintaining their fitness over the close season is a vital part of their summer break.

Yeovil Town Physio Simon Baker has been explaining to www.ytfc.net that all the squad have been given an "Off Season Information Pack" containing advice and sample diets for the players to follow.

The holiday period has been broken down to blocks with specific instructions for each period. The first two weeks are quite specific and players are expected to have a complete rest both physically and mentally.

Over the next three week period the players are expected to steadily maintain their fitness levels without going to extremes.

The final three weeks should see a steady increase in activities to ensure when the players return from their close season breaks they are able to go straight into pre-season training without having to play catch up at the start of next season.

Two vital giveaway signs that the players will have to beware of is their weight and their body fat percentage and any problems in either of these areas will undoubtedly result in some sort of disciplinary action being introduced.

So it’s not all sun, sea and sand for the lads as they unwind in exotic destinations across the globe. A basic level of fitness discipline must be maintained.

Have a good break lads!!!!
