Kevin Dawson put the Glovers ahead from the spot before Joe Jacobson levelled with a penalty at the other end.
Speaking before the game, Way highlighted the Chairboys main attributes and was satisfied with how his team dealt with their threats.
“We were fully aware of their game plan,” he told YTFC’s official YouTube channel.
“I’ve watched Wycombe a few times now and they’ve been very effective in what they do.
“They play quite similar to the way we play and they’ve been very impressive; their form has been very good.
“Normally they break teams down in the last ten or 15 minutes of the game. They have a never-say-die attitude but I thought my players were very resilient today and on another day we could’ve come out winners.
“We have to look at it as a good point overall.”
He added: “I am pleased but just like the supporters and players I want more.
“To come away with a point with the impressive form Wycombe have had, I have to make sure I’m too critical of the group.
“I feel very proud working with them, I’m enjoying my role, I love this job and so far everyone is sticking together.
“For a club to be successful that’s what you need. It’s a month I said was going to be difficult but it’s one we’re looking forward to.”
