Four days have passed and I am still on Cloud 9 from that impressive win on Saturday!

I thought we outplayed Peterborough and I was really hoping it wasn’t going to be one of those days where you just can’t hit the back of the net.

It may have taken a while but that goal was definitely worth the wait… I hope Joel Grant has been called twinkle toes in training after he danced past three defenders to coolly slot home. Anyone who says football is just a game has never been to Huish Park as the atmosphere at the weekend was just fantastic! I like to think we all played a part in securing the first home win since March.

As for the rest of the football world, everyone is still talking about Manchester United going down 5-3 at Leicester having been 3-1 up.

That game optimised why it is called the “beautiful game” and who else thought smugly that the Foxes just about managed to scrape a point against the Glovers at the King Power Stadium last year?! Let’s hope we get an FA Cup run this year and we can show Manchester United what we are made of.

Last night saw the Capital One Cup third round take place and the main headline has to be Liverpool. They managed to edge past Middlesbrough 14-13 in a penalty shoot out which was record equalling.

It took 30 spot kicks to settle the match with 20 in a row being scored. I hate watching us take one penalty, let alone 15 so I can imagine how relieved Liverpool fans were and how gutted Boro fans must be today! Either way, it will be another one of those matches that no one will forget.

Southampton continued their impressive start to the season defeating Arsenal 2-1 to progress and it has to be said that Ronald Koeman is doing a fantastic job at St Marys. Many people wrote them off having lost such key players but their ethos has remained the same and they are a team appreciated by opposition fans, a mean feat in modern football.

Goal of the week
It has been so tough to choose one goal this week after some absolute crackers on Match of the Day and the Football League Show, not least Joel Grant’s, but I am sure you have all watched that one as many times as I have! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qnq-ufUiQBc)

However, it has been a great week for Middlesborough as not only did they take Liverpool to penalties last night, they also defeated Brentford 4-0 in what was an impressive and dominant performance. This finish from Grant Leadbitter is one of true class, so enjoy.

Next, the Glovers face Crawley Town and after Saturday’s impressive performance against second in the league, we can be a match for anyone.

We have some encouraging away form and to get back to back wins would kick start our charge up the table. The result at the weekend was one which would have made a lot of teams sit back and think…why have we written off Yeovil Town?!

So let’s prove them right and get behind the lads and secure another hard fought three points. Hope it is a safe journey to Crawley, (it is just up the road for me) and look forward to next week. Have a good one Glovers.
