Yeovil Town wideman Tom Knowles has been pleased to see he and his teammates share the goalscoring responsibility in recent weeks.
During last weekend’s five goal haul against Yate Town, the Glovers found five different goalscorers, with Knowles himself going close to adding one for himself at the end of the first half.
Speaking ahead of Saturday’s return to National League action, Knowles said; “I think certainly in the first part of the season we were reliant on (Joe) Quigley to score the goals.
“I’ve finally chipped in with one (against Woking), Chaz (Charlie Wakefield) has a few now, the more we can spread the goals out the better because we’re not just reliant on one person, everyone can chip in and make sure we’re winning games.
Despite not finding the back of the net against Yate, Knowles has found his scoring touch which evaded him in the early weeks.
The Glovers no.11 has admitted the early season was a frustrating time for him as he awaited his first goal of the campaign, however Knowles affirmed that he’s confident his return in front of goal will only improve.
“I’m quite critical of myself, and obviously last year I had a good return at the end of the season, I wanted to keep that going this season but I haven’t scored as many as I would’ve liked.
“It’s one of those things you go through as a footballer, I don’t come out of every game thinking ‘if I haven’t scored I’ve played badly,’ but obviously it’s always nice to get goals as an attacker.
“I was a little frustrated with myself, but now I just need to get more consistent with my performances and the goals will come.”
