12th February 2019

The hosts appointed former Manchester United and England legend Paul Scholes as manager on Monday, with his first match of the helm coming against the green and whites.

Darren Way’s side will look to spoil the 44-year-old’s first game in management and put an end to a four-game losing streak at the same time.

Town set off for Greater Manchester off the back of a 3-1 defeat at home to Grimsby on Saturday and will look to improve on back-to-back 1-0 losses from their last two away outings.

Searching for a winning formula, they’ll be unable to call upon Craig Alcock who’ll serve his one-match ban and Tom James who’ll sit out the second of a four-game suspension.

Joining the duo on the sidelines will be Omar Sowunmi (ankle), Sessi D’Almeida (shoulder) and Josh Grant (ankle).

The Latics currently sit 14th in the table with 12 points more than the Glovers, fresh from a 3-0 win over Crawley last time out.

Head-to-head
Tuesday night will be the 20th meeting between the two sides.

Town boast eight wins to Oldham’s five and will look to repeat the dominant display they produced on their last visit to Boundary Park.

In December 2014, goals from Stephen Arthurworrey, Simon Gillett, Sam Hoskins and Kieffer Moore secured an emphatic victory in League One.

Officials
Thomas Bramall will be the man in the middle at Boundary Park.

In what will be his 35th match of the campaign, it’ll be his third involving the green and whites having overseen the 1-0 away victories at both Grimsby and Carlisle United.

He’ll be assisted by Ken Haycock and Lee Freeman with Sebastian Stockbridge acting as fourth official.
