An unnamed trialist was on the scoresheet for the green and whites after a youthful-looking starting eleven finished the opening 45 minutes a goal behind.
With most of the first team squad completing the second-half, the hosts held on for a draw to leave Sarll to reflect:
“I thought the frustration in the first half was from a lack of quality and the frustration in the second half was just that last little bit at the end of the move.
“There was some decent play and I was pleased to see in the second half a bit more constructive build-up rather than a direct one, but I find all these friendlies frustrating. I’m not particularly a fan of them.
“I wanted to give some of the boys who hadn’t started the benefit of coming out and starting for the club. Some showed some better things and some showed some not so good things.
“Now we go into the last week of preparation, things need to start heating up and we’ll start to turn the table on a couple of signings or a couple of offers that we’ve got out this weekend.”
With two pre-season friendlies left before the 2019/20 campaign begins on August 3rd at Barnet, the Glovers will face Taunton Town and Bristol City next.
Targeting new additions, Town’s boss is keen to finalise his recruitment.
“I thought it was important to get another 45 minutes into the players, but I thought the back three and Craig (Alcock) in the second half looked nice, strong, sturdy and steady. Murphy is a very, very clever player as everyone can see and I thought it was Worthington’s most aggressive performance that I’ve seen so far so there were some good bits.
“But again we need to finish the jigsaw before I get any opportunity of trying to build any consistency through the way of playing.”
