The Glovers travel to Kenilworth Road to take on Luton Town, where they earned a point in their first away match last term.
Former Hatter Jake Gray returns to Bedfordshire for the first time, while a further eight of Yeovil’s summer signings are available for selection – with Stephan Zubar ruled out through a knee injury.
Way insists his new arrivals have integrated well with the rest of the squad and believes everyone is relishing the beginning of the season.
“From looking at pre-season and how it went, the whole group are looking forward to it,” he told iFollow.
“Some of our personalities have got really good leadership skills. I can see our pattern and they’re very organised out of possession.
“It’s important we turn up to the first game of the season, where there is that little bit of added pressure to it, and come out of it with a result.
“The whole team is motivated – and we have to be more so than Luton.”
Luton are many bookies favourites to win promotion to League One.
Nathan Jones has brought in five new faces in pre-season, including ex-Green and White stopper Marek Stech, and Way feels they will be under pressure to go up.
He said: “On paper, everyone will say they’ll be champions this year.
“Nathan has tried to make improvements from last year and they’ve spent a lot of money. He knows they have to get promoted.
“You look at some of the players they have – Collins is a fantastic player, always looking to play on the shoulder the same as Vassell. That’s what Hylton did in the last game – they played direct balls in behind and back four.
“I assume they’ll do the same so we have to be ready for that. They’ve got physical and clever players and we have to make sure we match that.
“We’ve got to make sure we go there and put in a really resilient performance but at the same time really enjoy the first game of the season, play with no fear and be totally committed to wearing that shirt with pride.”
