INTERVIEW | Second half response pleases Way

The Glovers fell behind to substitute Jonathan Forte’s low strike but secured a point through a late Francois Zoko penalty.

County were top of Sky Bet League Two going into the game at Huish Park and their direct approach was something Way was wary of pre-match.

“Playing against top of the league was always going to be a difficult task,” he told iFollow Glovers.

“I think (Jon) Stead going off helped us because they’re a very direct team but I have to compliment them for the way they play because of their league position.

“It’s always difficult to play against that style of play and I thought the lads responded well in the second half. They were persistent, they kept going and I thought the way they won the penalty was very pleasing.”

Way was happy with two Town players in particular.

Zoko netted his sixth goal of the campaign on his return from suspension while Rhys Browne made a positive impact off the bench.

“Francois scores goals and he’s done that for a number of seasons for us,” Way said.

“We’re very lucky to have him, his experience and his football intelligence.

“There will be one or two players who will listen and learn from him, and he’s made a good career out of doing that.”

He added: “I said before the game Rhys Browne was very unfortunate to find himself not playing and the way he reacted when he came on was very pleasing.”
