Yeovil Town’s fighting performance at Ewood Park on Friday has brought a rallying call from both the manager and the Chairman ahead of the Easter Monday fixture against Huddersfield Town.
After today’s results Yeovil Town find themselves five points behind both Blackpool and Charlton.
Meanwhile The Glovers are at home to Huddersfield Town in what is a must win match.
Chairman John Fry said this evening: “We have been playing great football for much of the season without just getting the breaks.
“Against Huddersfield we must get behind the team and the management team who have been magnificent all season.
“Around 9,000 came to watch us against Sheffield United in what fans must have considered a big, big game. Well this match is even bigger and we need a great atmosphere to give the lads every chance.
“They deserve it and so does Gary, Terry and Darren. We can still do this but as a club we must all pull together. We need a massive home crowd to cheer them.
“So please, please come out and support the lads on Easter Monday.”
Manager Gary Johnson was equally up beat. “With three games still to play and nine points still to play for we must believe as a management team, as players and as supporters that as it is in front of us it is still possible.
“Depending on how other results go it may not even need three wins, it will definitely need two so therefore our game against Huddersfield is the biggest game in Yeovil’s history.
“For the simple reason a great effort on and off the pitch were to result in us beating Huddersfield that would go a long long way to helping us secure our SkyBet Championship status.
“Yes it looks daunting at the moment but after every win it will look more doable. We must be ready to not have any regrets should any of the teams in our relegation zone slip…and they will. It’s just a matter of how many will.
“So please don’t give up on us just yet and help us make these next two weeks the most memorable end to a season.”
Enough said really and don’t forget it’s a “Kids for a quid” match as well.
