Whitbread PLC has launched its brand new Premier Inn hotel and Beefeater restaurant in Yeovil Town Centre with an exclusive event attended by players from Yeovil Town FC this week.
During the event, which was also attended by the Mayor of Yeovil, Councillor Mike Lock, the club’s iconic mascot, the Jolly Green Giant, joined children from the local youth club to carry out a ‘Junior Hotel Inspection’ to make sure everything was up to scratch.
Furthermore, Joe Edwards, Byron Webster, James Hayter, Sam Foley, Terry Skiverton, Darren Way, Dave Linney and Gareth Stewart from Yeovil Town FC were joined by media and business leaders to take part in a steak-tasting session, lead by British brand Beefeater, famed for it’s steak offering, where attendees got to taste a range of steaks from the menu.
Delicious options included 18oz Porterhouse, Fillet and Rump, and were sampled under the expert guidance of Beefeater restaurant chefs who discussed how to match with wine.
The new Whitbread PLC development has contributed over £3 million to the local economy and generated 61 new jobs for the residents of Yeovil and the surrounding area.
