Gerry was best known as a player for his time at Bristol City and Manchester City, but also enjoyed spells with Burnley and Rotherham United.
Moving in to management, Gerry arrived at Yeovil Town in 1984 bringing with him a number of former Bristol City players as he looked to turn around fortunes at the Somerset club.
Gow also brought cricket legend Ian Botham to the old Huish mid-way through the season, something which earned Yeovil media attention from across the country.
After relegation, Gerry almost guided Town back into what is now the National League missing out by just four points in the 1985/86 season, before resigning for personal reasons early in 1987.
The 1985/86 campaign will be remembered by many long-term Glovers fans, with the team scoring 92 goals and collecting 91 points in total.
After a short battle with cancer, Gerry passed away in the early hours of Monday morning.
Everybody at Huish Park offers their sincere condolences to Gerry’s family.
