The striker has three fresh faces to go toe-to-toe with following the deadline day arrivals of Kabongo Tshimanga, Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro and Owain Jones.
Despite not finding the back of the net in Tuesday’s win over Plymouth Argyle, Eaves was awarded man of the match for his incredibly hard-working display and admits he would love to have more goals to his name.
“Ideally I’d like to be scoring more,” he told YTFC’s official YouTube channel.
“Sometimes I’m like ‘why isn’t that falling for me?’ and ‘why can’t I get a one-on-one?’ but if we’re winning games then I’m not complaining.”
He added: “We’ve got a lot of strikers in the team now so there’s going to be a lot of competition for places which certainly keeps me on my toes.
“I want to remain in the team and be the focal point as much as possible.
“It’s up to the manager who he selects. I’ve got to do my best on the pitch and hope to play.”
The three points against Plymouth were Town’s first in nine league matches.
Earlier on in the season Darren Way’s side went on an eight-match winning run and Eaves is confident the squad can replicate that feat again.
He said: “Next month is jam-packed and if we get a result Saturday (v Hartlepool United), and Tuesday (v Luton Town), and get that sort of momentum going again like we did then why not?
“We’ve been very unlucky the past few weeks and I think I’ve hit the post six times this season!
“If those six are converted into goals then we could be looking at a different story. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.”
