With a date for the hearing of the recently submitted Planning Permission Application from Yeovil Town Football Club now expected to be Wednesday 2nd. April the football club have decided to circulate full details of the application to all of the elected Councillors on South Somerset District Council.
There has been much debate about the proposed development at Huish Park and club chairman John Fry felt it was necessary to provide all the Councillors with the club’s vision for the future.
So to that end the club have prepared three individual documents about the project, together with a DVD to give a far more detailed view of what is planned for the very future of the club.
Commenting on the move John Fry said: “There is always a huge amount of detail about a project such as this one and the club and our development partners, CDS, felt it was imperative that Councillors are fully briefed on the project and the full impact on the local area.
“Our community football club has for many years brought substantial national and now International recognition and success to the area culminating in our involvement in the top division of the Football League and the FA Women’s Super League.
“The county has grown to be a major force in the country and along with EDF’s new Power Station at Hinkley Point, Somerset County Cricket Club, Glastonbury Festival, Millfield School and AgustaWestland, Yeovil Town Football Club are without doubt one of the jewels in the counties crown.
“We are not asking for money from the council just the total support from the district Council to enable the club to maintain and improve its future in the county.”
