The Glovers head to Brunton Park on a four-match unbeaten run in all competitions and have netted four goals without conceding in their previous two outings.
On the road, Yeovil have won just once this season but James believes the squad have it in them to ‘scrap’ for a win in Cumbria.
“We’ve been doing well in the league recently and it’s all coming together now,” James told iFollow Glovers.
“It is a long trip but we’re not going to make that an excuse. We’re going there to win the game at the end of the day and if we have to do it an ugly way and scrap it out we’re going to do that.
“We’ve done a bit of analysis on them so we know what they’re going to throw at us and we know what we’re going to give back to them.
“It is a big game as we’re close in the league but every game is a big game and we’re going to go there and try and get the job done.”
In Ryan Dickson’s absence, James has began at left-back in Yeovil’s last three matches.
The versatile Welshman, who can play anywhere across the defence, isn’t fussed which position he is selected in as long as he can contribute to the team.
“I’m getting in the team now and playing,” he said.
“I’ve had a couple of games at left-back which I’ve enjoyed. I’ve tried to get forward as much as I can and help the team out and it’s going well.
“I don’t really mind where I play in the back four, five or whatever. As long as I’m playing, I’m happy.”
