Lining up for Uganda, the 22-year-old played 88 minutes of the Cranes’ 3-1 win over Sao Tome & Principe on Saturday to claim a first cap.

Receiving a standing ovation from the home crowd, Mugabi will have the chance to impress further on Tuesday night when Uganda take on Malawi in Namboole.

Mugabi in the Uganda line up

Joining Rhys Browne (Antigua & Barbuda), Shaun Donnellan and Corey Whelan (Republic of Ireland U21s) in leaving Somerset for international duty, the former Southampton defender becomes the first contracted Yeovil player to earn a first cap for their country since May 2014.

Joel Grant (Jamaica) was the last player to represent their country for the first time, following impressive performances in Green & White during the 2013/14 campaign.

All at YTFC would like to congratulate Bevis on the achievement.
