The Glovers haven’t featured in Sky Bet League Two action since the 1-0 win at Colchester on March 17th, with the following games against Accrington and Forest Green Rovers postponed due to the international break and inclement weather respectively.
Now up to three games behind other teams in the division, the Green & Whites return to action in the West Midlands on Monday.
Heading to in-form Coventry, James told YTFC.net that the squad’s extended break could be a positive.
“We’ll try and use having fresh legs going into the game to our advantage – we’re away from home so we’re going to need those extra legs.
“We’ve played a lot of games so we needed that rest with a lot of Saturday-Tuesday games coming up. We’re looking forward to the game though and hopefully carrying on that little run (of form).
“Whilst we haven’t played, we’ve been back in training working hard, getting ready for the game.”
An ever-present this season, 21-year-old James is targeting a strong end to the campaign.
Town have just nine fixtures remaining, with the Welshman looking to improve at both ends of the pitch.
“I’m happy overall,” he said. “At the start of the season it took a bit of time to get used to the first team environment playing two games a week, but I’m feeling fit and strong and want to carry on and improve as much as I can.
“One thing I’d like to improve on is getting the goals. I’ve had a couple of chances but it’s not quite gone right so hopefully in the last nine games I can get one or two.”
