Described as an inside forward, Taylor netted 284 goals for Town – the most by any Glover in the post-war era and the only man in that timeframe to score over 200 goals for the club.

Taylor was part of the Yeovil side that won the 1963/94 Southern League – now known as the Evo-Stik League Southern – and his goals also helped Town to three Somerset Cup triumphs in the 60s.

The Rochester-born man spent nine years in Somerset and had spells at Gillingham, Portsmouth, Bath City and Cheltenham Town.

Everyone at the club sends its condolences Dave’s family and friends at this sad time.
