Darren Sarll says his side were caught unexpected as Aldershot began in an unfamiliar formation on Tuesday night.

Ethan Chislett’s early penalty sparked Yeovil back into life as Albi Skendi hooked Sarll’s side level.

The visitors would take the lead again through Jack Powell’s free kick, but Yeovil fought back again as Courtney Duffus won a penalty which was expertly converted by Rhys Murphy.

Speaking to YTTV, the Gaffer said;

“I thought we were very, very toothless first half. The fact they didn’t play the shape we thought they were going to play, nullified the one we played on Saturday, but once we changed that I thought we were better”

“We were very delicate, the pitch didn’t really help us pass it, so it became really scratchy and ugly,”

“I said to the players that they need to go out and have belief, you must have belief in what you do, how you will defend or attack, head it or tackle. 50% had not enough belief at all.”
