At Saturday’s game with Sheffield Wednesday members of the YTFC Get Pedalling team held a collection along with a static bike ride at Huish Park in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.
It is with great delight to inform fans that the collection raised a total of £1,055. Royal Mail have agreed to double the amount raised, so the total being presented to Prostate Cancer UK will be a whooping £2,110!
YTFC Get Pedalling are a group of Yeovil Town fans who are cycling 334 miles from Middlesbrough to Yeovil.
When the fixtures came out, rather than look for the opening fixture or maybe the Christmas logjam of matches, those committed to the ride looked straight for the final home game of the season only to find it could not have been any further! Middlesbrough, just the 334 miles away, will visit Huish Park on the last day of the season, Saturday May 3rd 2014.
A total of 70 riders have pledged to take part, an increase on last year and a fabulous message to send out to the charities that the event will be supporting. Each rider will pay £200 to take part and has also agreed to raise £334 in sponsorship, a pound for every mile of the ride.
