Yeovil Town are disappointed that there has been an increase in the use of pyro at recent fixtures.
Following an incident last weekend at Dagenham & Redbridge, where a pyrotechnic device was thrown amongst supporters and landed on another travelling Yeovil fan. The individual who threw the device was identified by the Dagenham safety team and ejected from the stadium.
We were deeply concerned to see another incident of pyro in the Thatcher’s Stand against Wealdstone on Tuesday night. We have been working with Avon and Somerset Police following these incidents and will share all information regarding these incidents with them.
As a football club, we would like to make it clear and reiterate that the use of pyro in the stadium is strictly against ground regulations and in accordance with our zero-tolerance policy, any person found to be in possession of, or using pyro, within the stadium will receive a lengthy ban from Huish Park and will be reported to the police. We would also point out that it is a criminal offense to bring a device of this nature into the stadium.
We are aware this refers to a tiny minority of fans, and we thank the vast majority of Yeovil fans who continue to provide great support to the team and represent the club in a positive manner.
