The club would like to place on record its thanks to the Green and White army for their support during these unusual times. We would also like to salute the work being done by everyone in the NHS and the many different types of key workers outside the NHS who are working so hard for us all.

We thought it would be helpful to issue this general update to answer fans recent queries as follows:

Playoffs

Although it has been decided that the regular season of games will not be played, the club believes strongly that when it is safe to do so the National League playoffs should be completed. The National League’s playoff structure requires just 5 games to be played over a 12-day period and Yeovil Town FC, like most other clubs in the playoff places, remains committed to completing the playoffs when it is safe to do so, even if this means them being played at over a week at some point in the summer.

Summary of current club operations

All of the club’s players and the vast majority of staff are currently on furlough, but in addition to our media volunteer, some elements of our Academy and Community Trust operations continue. Yeovil Town Community Sports Trust is doing some great work in engaging with our community during this lockdown period and some Academy staff are busy ensuring that key areas such as welfare are covered.

Crowdfunding

Following recent social media comments where fans were seeking ways to contribute to YTFC, the club can confirm it is in the process of creating a crowdfunder page that will allow supporters help the club with donations as well as selling packages for next season.  With this we will be donating 10% of all monies to local charities as well as donating tickets to NHS and key workers for next season.

The club is delighted to have the backing of Rich Rendell the Chairman of the Supporters Alliance in this Crowdfunding venture, Rich said “Not only as Chairman of the YTFC Supporters Alliance and GWSC, but as a Supporter of our club. I fully back the Crowdfunding concept. It’s a way of bringing all supporters together and helping the club, please support it”.

Ticketing

The club is aware that as and when the ticket office does reopen at a future date, fans will have questions about season tickets, ticket bundles and tickets already purchased for the regular season games that will now not occur. We know from monitoring social media that some fans see the unused tickets etc as donations to the club – something we are very grateful for, but some fans would like to have other options, including potential refunds.  Can we ask those supporters who would like to donate their tickets, bundles and remaining season tickets to email info@ytfc.net with Donate in the subject box stating they wish to donate their tickets.  All those supporters who donate tickets to the club will be invited to a special thank you event at the club with players, management and directors when it is safe to do so. Those wanting a refund can email  ticketoffice@ytfc.net and we will deal with this request, giving timescales on when the club is capable of issuing refunds, when the ticket office reopens following government guidelines that it’s safe to reopen businesses.  Please understand that like all businesses at present, the club’s finances are being stretched just to keep us safe month to month.

We are aware that some fans have queried why the 2020/21 season tickets have not already been put on sale to generate cash flow for the club. The reasons for this are simply, at this time we cannot be certain when next season will start or which division we will be in.  Fans can still help through the crowdfunder site when launched or either make purchases from the online club shop at http://www.ytfc-shop.co.uk/

In Summary – thank you!

The club will not forget the backing it has had from fans – or indeed the support we have all had from key workers. When football returns, we will be finding ways to thank all of these groups for their efforts/support as well as remembering those associated with the club who have sadly passed away over the last few weeks.

We hope everyone reading this update and all of their families stay safe and well. We urge you all to protect the NHS by staying at home as doing this will not only help save lives, but will also help us all get back to normality as quickly as possible.
